WHAT REALLY HAPPENED ON 9/11?

There are so many theories revolving around the globe, trying to explain what really happened on 9/11.

Was our government directly involved in the tumbling of the twin towers? No one really knows. But there are many who suspect that this was the case.

I searched a few videos and found that many were too long, too underground, or just too ridiculous to post on my blog. I did however, find a video on youtube that summed up three major theories of what conspiracy theorists think happened that day...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjSHj4b9Cnw . As the video suggests the events of 9/11 "launched an Internet phenomenon. The blogosphere began to question the official accounts often implicating tri-level agencies within the government." The big three plotholes are as follows. First, the collapse of the twin towers was caused by controlled demolitions, and not by the planes crashing into the buildings. The second theory, is in regards to the plane that supposedly crashed into the Pentagon. Conspiracy theorists suggests that a 757 airplane did not in fact crash into the Pentagon. They are brought to this conclusion due to the fact that the hole in the building was way too small to have been caused by a 757 plane crash. If you look at pictures of the "crash site" you can't find any debris left by the two engines that can withstand extreme levels of heat and could not have been incinerated beyond recognition by jet fuel, whose burning point is not high enough to destroy the engines. Also noted by conspiracy theorists is the lack of debris found at the site. When compared to other photos of 757 or similar size plane crashes there is always the engines, pieces of seats, and other easily visible debris found at the crash sites. The third big theory has to do with the plane that crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, many conspiracy theorists believe that the plane was in fact shot down by the United States fighter planes, and that a story was fabricated telling of passenger heroism in order to boost the morale of the United States public. The way the government told the story, was that there was a cockpit invasion, passengers tried to be heroic and stop the hijackers succeeded but the plane and its passengers could not be saved. There was even a movie made based on that story. Is it possible that the U.S decided to shoot down the plane while it was over an open field in order to prevent it from killing or harming more citizens than the plane already contained? Of course it is. The government has to weigh out the different alternatives. The alternative of shooting down the plane and killing 200 civilians versus the plane crashing into a city, or another highly occupied building I am sure went through some government officials hands, and ultimately someone high in the government made the decision to shoot it down. This theory does not go without support. In fact, many eyewitnesses in Pennsylvania claim that they saw an explosion in the air before the plane even hit the ground. Which of course is not consistent with the story the United States government told us. Thus, all the conspiracy theorists poked these ideas to death, and there are over 150 million web pages devoted to explaining the "truth" behind 9/11.

Are these ideas believable? Of course they are, look at the facts. Are they true? No one will ever know or be able to prove that they are, which of course is why they are considered conspiracy theories.
