DID AFRICAN AMERICANS FAVOR OBAMA?

Did rappers favor Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential election?  Did African Americans favor him?  Well according to some of the mainstream rappers, they have a bond with Obama.  Being as they say, "they are both African American."  I found an interesting video where Larry King interviews Snoop Dogg.  Larry King asks Snoop Dogg how he feels about a black man being in the Presidential race.    What is interesting about the video is that Snoop says he is not a part of either the Republican or Democratic party. Even though Snoop does admit that he does have a personal tie to Barack Obama, because they are both black and are going through the same things in life.  Check out the clip...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doOH4wFq1NA .  During this Presidential election I wondered what affect a black Presidential candidate would have on the Presidential race, and blacks in America.  Well according to polls taken by CNN and other mainstream media, the black vote had a huge affect on the 08' Presidential election.  Although the black vote did not have much affect in California, it did have a significant affect in the Southern states of the United States, where blacks who live in the United States are concentrated.  It seems as though the racial attitudes played a big role in shaping voter's attitudes towards certain candidates, and how effective they would be if elected President.  Now even though blacks comprise only 12% of the U.S. population, they seemed to have a large effect in certain states.   For instance, South Carolina where Obama won by a landslide victory.

Is Obama the black American's hope for their people to be heard?  Possibly.  Actually, more than likely.  Barack Obama is the only black member in the Senate.   Which I am sure helped him get many votes.  He was in a way, the average African American's hope.  He could relate to the majority of African Americans in that he was not born into money.  He was born poor, just as many of them were.  Which I feel helped him get tremendous support from African Americans.  If you think about it maybe Hillary Clinton would have had a greater chance if she could gain the popularity between America's females.
